There are some wedding days that just feel like the couple, and this colorful Saddle Point wedding in Bell Buckle, Tennessee was exactly that.
I had the pleasure of capturing Josh + Mallory's engagement session prior to the wedding. They were both full of laughs and love the entire time. Their love just radiated off of them. Getting to photograph their engagement session beforehand made their wedding day feel even more meaningful. The venue itself offered a peaceful, open-air setting, while every detail they chose added layers of color and life. During portraits, everything slowed down for a second. It wasn’t overly posed or forced, just a quiet, intentional moment where he played, she soaked it in, and I got to capture something that felt incredibly real. As a documentary-style wedding photographer, these are the moments I’m always drawn to, the in-between, emotional pieces of a wedding day that often go unnoticed.
Those candid, music-filled portraits ended up being some of my favorites from this Bell Buckle wedding, not because they were perfect, but because they were honest.
The entire day carried that same energy. Nothing felt stiff or overly traditional. It was emotional in the best way, full of movement, laughter, and genuine connection. Mallory started off the day getting ready with all of her girls, we went out to capture her bridal party, and they danced around and laughed together. Once Josh saw Mallory for the first time that day, walking down the aisle, he could not hold back the tears anymore. They had the sweetest vows to read to each other, and again, you could just feel the love. After the ceremony is where he brought his guitar and played some songs for her. Then they went on to party with all of their friends and family.
That’s what made it so beautiful.
Not just the colors, or the details, or even this stunning Saddle Point wedding venue, but the way it all came together to reflect them. Their connection. Their story. Their people.
